Dr. Miyen Kwek, DDS
Dr. Kwek graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1997. He practised all aspects of dentistry in Toronto and Burlington until 1999 when he moved to Kitchener to further his career. In 2002, he finally found his dental home in the wonderful community of New Hamburg, which he later named as the ‘New Hamburg Dental Group’. In 2007 and 2010, he and Dr. Manning Chiang brought their quality approach to dental care to the welcoming communities of Wellesley, Drayton and now Breslau.
Dr. Kwek prides himself with ensuring that he provides the best quality dental care for his patients both inside and outside of the office. He has planted his dental roots in the smaller communities of New Hamburg, Wellesley, Drayton and Breslau as he believes in a community and patient centered approach to dental treatment. His easy going personality and professional yet humourous chairside manner allows his patients to feel at ease under his care. He is known to his patients as the dentist who makes follow-up calls to ensure their well being is his priority. He also prides himself in giving back to the community on many levels. He continues to actively support local charities, events, team sports, organizations, schools, and mission projects abroad.
Since 1997, Dr. Kwek’s philosophy of practice has been to provide the best long term treatment in order to prevent disease, wear and tear, and to prevent fracture and unnecessary tooth loss. Although he is committed to providing clinical excellence in every aspect of dentistry to his patients, he has a true passion for oral surgery, replacing teeth with dental implants, and creating esthetic, affordable, immediate and long lasting smile makeovers.
Dr. Kwek stays current by continually taking advanced level courses in implant therapy and bone and tissue regeneration. He also teaches general surgery courses to other dentists who are interested in gaining more experience.
His attention to detail and quality of care is why Dr. Kwek’s patients continue to refer their families and friends from all over the region.
When he is not at the office, Dr. Kwek is enjoying family life with his sons, Jaden and Tai.  Dr. Kwek also enjoys going to the gym, participating in a wide variety of sports, travelling and riding his motorcycle.
